What We Do

Build Strong, Healthy Communities

Together, we can build a stronger, healthier Kennebec Valley by helping people access prevention and wellness services and engage in healthy behaviors.

What we're up against

Benchmark measurement: In Kennebec County, 7,287.7 years of potential life is lost before age 75 (per 100,000 population).

By tracking these data points over a 10-year period, our goal is to reduce the years of potential life lost before age 75 by 5%.

How we make it better

Living a healthy life means more than just visiting the doctor. True well-being and happiness come from a blend of strong mental health, proper nourishment, physical activity, community connections, making healthy choices, and feeling safe. By supporting health programs and services like meal delivery for homebound seniors, outreach for teens, access to nutritious food for all, and behavioral support for at-risk individuals, we empower children, adults, families, and neighbors to lead longer, healthier, and more fulfilling lives.

Good health and a strong community go hand in hand, opening doors to better education, a higher quality of life, and greater financial stability.

Investing in local health programs ensures everyone — regardless of social or economic challenges — has the resources to thrive and achieve their best health.
